Day 17- 4th Day of Deliberations- More notes from the Jury

Posted by Sam Riles On March - 26 - 2010

Seems the Jury has some more questions for the Court….stay tuned.

So far no verdict from the Jury just a few notes asking for clarification on a few points….will keep on it until they come back in.

Day 15- 2nd Day of Deliberation…no verdict yet.

Wonder what the Jurors are talking about? Seems like their may be a few folks looking at the evidence…should be a good think for the Defense.

Day 15 – Jury Deliberation Day 2

Still no verdict folks… Are you as anxious as I am?

Day 14: Day One of Jury Deliberation

Posted by Susan Bell On March - 23 - 2010

The Deliberations officially commenced today.

The Jury will be in insolation until they come to a verdict.

I really hope the jury understands how significant this process is, and they are able to see through all of the Prosecution’s fallacies.

The jury was officially “sequestered” by the United States Marshal during their deliberations today.

Sequestering involves isolation of jurors outside of court proceedings, disallowing any external contact.

This process is usually taken only for high profile cases, where the contact with the outside might prejudice the jury’s verdict.

Day 13- Closing Arguments Completed- Jury Instructions in the am

Closing arguments are done. Jury instructions in the am then its in the Jury’s hands.

Day 12 – The Prosecution Rests!

Posted by Jerry Sims On March - 11 - 2010

Today the government had one of it’s special agents reading a couple press releases into evidence and then rested its case! With that, the jury has the rest of this week and next week off.

Day 11- Judge -No Jury in the Courtroom

Posted by Sam Riles On March - 10 - 2010

Seems like the Atty’s for both sides had a lot of motions as it relates to the evidence and testimony to work out. A lot of prior exhibits like 1-4 are in dispute as are the Elisabeth Moore Stock Binders….all to be worked out over the break.

One last item it looks like the Govt will read in a few press releases into evidence then the jury will get to go home early on Thursday.

I’m guessing the Govt doesn’t want the jury to understand that 100’s of companies were having an issue applying APB25 and that Brocade was no different. It would undermine their case.

I hope they get to read this in deliberation.
Such a bizarre process.

Wrapping Up the Day

Posted by Cindy Sorrell On February - 22 - 2010

Based on the evidence presented today, in my opinion, the defense came out on top.  Two witnesses were called, both from the prosecution side.  However, witness one kind of sold it for the defense.  And I had no clue where the prosecution was going with the second witness?

Beyond a Reasonable Doubt

Posted by Susan Bell On February - 22 - 2010

Defense Atty Neal made it clear to the jury that since this is a criminal trial, the prosecution has the burden of proof, meaning that the defense doesn’t necessarily have to do anything. And in order for Reyes to be found guilty, they must be convinced “beyond a reasonable doubt” that he is guilty.

Defense team makes jury laugh.

Posted by Susan Bell On February - 22 - 2010

Defense Atty Neal reaches out to jury and speaks in a light hearted manner (even making a joke) , rather than Reeves who spoke to jury as if they were little children.
